Elements
"He is at the same rb as me with similar passives and stats and both lvl 165 and yet he is gettin more damage on me than i am on him..."
I'm sure this question must have troubled many a players. One major reason for the edge is the Elemental factor that kicks in.
Elements play a vital role in every aspect of the game. Be it PvP or PvE. Basically elements are of three types
- Fire (Arr) (denoted by the colour Red)
- Ice (Forn) (denoted by the colour Blue)
- Lightning (Di) (denoted by the colour Grey)
How do Elemental properties influence attack?
As most of you know the damage calculation formula clearly indicated the influence of elements on the damage dealt by the player.
Damage = [ ( Continuous effect x Weapon Efficiency ) x ( physical damage + ice, fire, lightning damage ) ] + basic attack damage(glove)(the continuous effect applies to milee characters and for the rest its a fixed value.)
well I'm not gonna talk about the efficiency or continuous effect or damage cos thats a whole new topic.
Coming to the elementals, The formula clearly indicates that ele properties have a multiplicative effect on the total damage dealt.. provided the player has sufficient physical attack power.
How to add elemental properties to a character?
Elemental properties can be added to a char in the following ways
Temporary increase of elemental properties can be achieved by :
- Using Larcs :
Larcs are available for giving a temporary boost to players elemental attack properties
Arr Larc for fire attack
Forn Larc for ice attack
Di Larc for lightning attack
Larcs are available in variants of Small (S) gives +10 increase, Medium (M) gives +20 increase, Large(L) gives +30 increase and Grand (G) gives a +50 increase.
Milarc gives a great boost to all elemental attacks + basic attack power (Its like using Di larc(G), Forn larc(G), Arr larc(G) and larc(G) together) .ie +50 increase of all elemental attacks and +150 increase of attack power
Note: Larc effects DO NOT STACK.. i.e u cannot use DiLarc(G) 2 times to get +100 lightnin attack
- Second method of gaining a temporary boost of elemental attack of defence is by buffs given by HKs
Ice, Fire, Lightning Shields give a 50% increase of respective elemental defence and elemental weapons (ice fire and lightning) give a 50% increase of respective elemental attack)
Karna weapon gives a whopping 50% increase of ALL elemental attack for the player along with a boost of attack power too!
- Barrels also give elemental attack power just like Larcs
Light Barrel for +50 lightning attack
Fire Barrel for +50 Fire attack
Ice Barrel for +50 Ice attack
Permanant :
- The players Shue
Every 5 lvls of a shue gives +1 increase of all elements. The max ele of a super super shue is 51
- The players Armor, shield and weapon
Elements onto armor, Shield (hk) and weapon can be added using jewels.. which I've discussed in detail below.
- Defence and Attack Rings and Necklaces
These can be bought of town NPCs. For lvl 165 players there are rings nd necklace which can have max eles of upto 45 each but i think its not available at ny npc in a3mania. Hope GM's add them to npc list
To add elemental options to armor or weapon or shield
Elemental options can be added to an armor or weapon or shield by using 6 jewels
For Fire : Ruby or Garnet
For Ice : Sapphire or Peridot
For Lightning : Topaz or Opal
Dropping these on armor, Shield or weapon alters the element value for that part.
Adding these may either increase or decrease the element or may leave it unchanged.
However topaz, ruby and sapphires have better chances of maxing out an ele option compared to opgs. They can be procured from armory NPC or by questing
OPGs are less successful and should not be used nd rather shld be saved for adding options to your g8, g9 or g10 sets.
Success of Elemental stones is RANDOM.
