How to Improve MS - A questions to GM & techies

To ALL,
I have internet connection with 50 Mbps solely for A3Mania...and when i play i get around 70-100 ms.
guide me how i can improve MS to 10-30 ?
should i invest in some good MODEM from Netgear ? currently using default given by hathway.

If you are using WiFi to play the game, you might slightly benefit with a better router. If you are using LAN connection, then you won't notice much of a difference between a good high end router and ISp supplied router.
Usually, the latency is not dependent on the bandwidth. It's because of the physical distance from you to the servers. There is nothing much you can do to improve it. Please provide us a Trace route to
www.a3mania.com so that we can give you details so you can take up the issue with your ISP. Please google on instructions on how to take a traceroute.

The issue is with your ISP. If you notice the 2nd Hop, the latency is almost 20ms. That's too high. Probably this is why the target latency to the server is higher and you are facing jitters. Ideally the ISPs local hops should be less than 2 ms.

Also, these 3 Hathway hops have a lot of Jitter. Almost 8ms ~ 20ms jitter. It's definitely some issue with the ISP probably bandwidth choking at their end.

I am getting latency of 48ms.....Is there any way to improve it further ?
