Game not starting after windows 7 install

I was running Vista home basic, and the game used to run fine, I just now upgraded to Windows 7 ultimate and the game refuses to start. I have attatched the screenie of the error. I'm using all the same software from before so there should be no question of anti virus or firewall issue as far as i know. And there are no additional programs running, could anyone (especially the GMs) shed some light on the issue.
And some solution too, asap.

Waiting anxiously for a solution.

Download the web installer for DirectX for Windows 7 and then install it. It will take time but should solve the issue.

Well thanx for the speedy reply.
I had done something even better, i had downloaded and installed the SDK version of directx, feb2010 version, still same problem.
And about the web installer, well i'v attached another screenie.


still same error on launching the game..



and to top it all its getting more frustrating now, i tried to run the client on a virtual machine running windows xp professional sp3, it still gave me the same msg.






I'm at my wits end, i do not want to go for a dual boot, or revert back to vista. And i know that the game is windows 7 ultimate compatible so what could possibly be wrong here.

Please help.

Hey i managed to fix it , driver issues, just did a windows update and it worked.
Anyhow thanx for the effort GmWarrior.
