Help to Format pc

Hi guyzz smone who know about formating pc please help me.
I dont hav motherboards cd tats my biggest problem.


N i dont know much abt hardware of the my pc but know tat i m useing
Xp and Core 2 duo processor thats the only think i know.
please tell me how can i get a cd .and also wat will happen if format my pc without the cd.

Since you dont have Motherboard CD and if you format your System, the main problem you will face is to reinstall the drivers of the system....
If you have Windows 7 then there would be no problem in reinstalling the drivers since it detects most of the system drivers by itself....

But if you are re-installing the system using Win XP then make sure to get Network drivers of your system in other CD... so that after re-installation of OS you can install network drivers of your system through which you can connect to internet and install rest of the motherboard drivers..

SO PlS NOTE THAT B4 FORMATTING UR SYSTEM U HV NETWORK DRIVERS SUITED TO UR MOTHERBOARD AS A BACKUP..

Just go to start menu and got Run and write there DXDIAG there will be all information regarding just give that motherboard information to me i will google the information about the Drivers for the motherboard that you have given to me and will give the link here itself to download
So do it asap because the drivers downloading suckxxxx

Funky nd silvermoon,

I m also facing a problem regarding a3mania.

I m unable to start a3mania @ home because 2 days back i formatted pc nd i hve lost my original drivers(Motherboard) cd nd its gving sm error.Here is the error it gvs
"Directx initialization failed.If u r runnin video conference,net meeting or 3d0games ,plz execute it or exit such program"

Nd I use Windows Xp nd here is my motherboard series plz gv me ne info or gv me a lnik for installing deivers (Motheboard)

Series : ASUS-P5VD2-MX/ROEM/SI

The error message you are receiving is of Direct X try to install it from internet or try to install the same using below link:

and chk whether your problem get resolve

yea they are correct in mentioning that u shuld make a backup of all the files necessary.. !

there are2 ways by which u can install new windows... one... u can directly put a windows installation CD and Install the thng on a Partition... !

Second... U will completely format ur PC via DOS... And then install the Windows wid the help of the installation CD..> There are specific Commands for formatting the PC... And to be frank i dont remember them .. !

I Go the link for downloading the drivers frist I am downlaoding whether they contains driver or not or they have trojan in it so wait some timee

Topic creator has a problem of not having motherboard cd so its basic b4 we say him how to format to teach him how to take backup...

Coz nowadays formatting of system is Easy... just put Win Xp Service Pack 2 installation CD and whossh ur system will get format..

The DOS prompt you are saying is not in use anymore.. And if you have installation CD you can read it and insall it by your own Just U have to press 'F8' and then need to choose Drive where u wanna install OS rest you can see and do it yourself.... as it will ask you CD key and time to set nohing else...

Remove the isntalled direct X drivers... I think u have installed the version which is not been supported by motherboard... Install the degraded version of Direct X i.e. 9.c or smthg like tht.

And could you please let me knw since when you are facing this issue?? as u said tht u hv formatted the system and b4 tht too u were getting this kind of error... so did u upgraded ur harware? or did any changes like installing new hardware or smthg like tht???

If possible pls attach SS of the error... thanks

nd before formatting pc i used to play from home only nd it was running smothly but after formatting i dint got my original driver cd jst bcoz of this i think i unable to start mania at home

Its Directx 9.0c.... Google it..


Chetan.. i dunnoe whether the DOS thng is out of use but i used to do it ..it was kool.. i like DOS..heh ..> !

And now windows 7 doesnt need all dat !

If you havent received drivers for your motherboard then you can download or update it from below Asus site:

hope you get your motherboard drivers, I have taken Socket775 (CPU) and model of your motherboard to search the same... and as max said you can google for 9.0c directx drivers...

Max, Yes, even i love to do formating using DOS mode it was easy... and was like we are doing smthg now we just hv to press enter
